London January 2010 Meet

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

First meet of 2010 was full of new people and lots of new dollies.

The badness was somewhat limited but there was a lot of posing dolls on their heads…

And I forgot my phone at home so no tweeting O.o which was a bit frustrating but survived.

Unoa Chibis

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Very late Happy New Year!

Been having a bit of a break from my dollies during December, something called Christmas came in the way ^^

Unoa Chibi’s arrived right before New Year, they cleared customs in less than 4 days?!! Amazing. Unfortunately they did not escape theĀ ransomĀ fee an auch was that a big one this time.

So, actually only put them together last weekend, no sanding or anything as the weather was just to cold to be outside.

Was planning on giving them some faces this weekend but guess what, it has now decided to pour down instead of snowing! So much for that brilliant plan.

Guess they will just have to be faceless for their first meet next weekend… But they got nice lovely hair that I bought in Mandarake in Tokyo so at least they will not have to make do with the fur wigs they came with.

And hubby have taken over the desk area so no new clothes either.

Sad welcome – I will have to do better lol.

Chibi Unoa Order – Done!

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Right, finally got around to ordering the new Chibi Unoas on almost the last day of the ordering period.

Now I just have to pay ><
Think Crescent need to send me an invoice…

My poor credit card will need CPR after Tokyo and now this lol

Christmas is definitely going to be on a low, very low burner this year.

Tokyo Dollshow 1 November 2009

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Went to Tokyo for the first time in my life and one of the main reasons to go at this time of year was to see the Dollshow.

Was planning to meet up with a DOA member but unfortunately her cat got sick :(

So, would have liked to bring hubby along inside but we could not find anywhere to park our suitcases at the station so he had to sit watch. Thank you!

It was slightly disappointing, not sure why, but maybe it was because I was really jetlagged and could not really take it all in + the fact that I don’t speak any Japanese at all and most there spoke no English at all. So having a chat with stall holders were out of the question. There was lot of bowing though and smiling which was pretty cool ^^

Best thing about it was the Araki stand. Seeing Unoa stuff for sale in real life instead of just online was really surreal. Did not buy anything though as I got a tonne of unpainted stuff floating around so could not justify it, although it was very very tempting, no shopping service fee and no customs! Wauw.
And asked the nice lady at the stand if I could either steal or buy one of the Chibi Unoas but for some weird reason she said no??? Odd woman! ;)

Oh, and was great to see all the vinyl dolls there, so tempted to buy some Momoko but did not. Just would never use them for anything at all other than look at, which I guess is not a bad thing but one has got to prioritise ^^

All pics from the Dollshow regardless of quality lol here..

The 2nd floor – this was where people could bring their dollies. There were mostly Dollfie Dreams there but did see a few resin girls and boys as well.

View of one of the floors – there were three this size! It was absolute massive.

There were soooo many cute Dollfie Dreams there

Loved this one with her very own Dollfie Dream ^^

And loads of Momokos on display and for sale *dribble* I wish I had endless amounts of cash and space *sigh*

These were slightly strange, lifesize dolls – slightly creepy in a cute kinda way…

When only being used to seeing clothes for sale in virtual reality then seeing it up close in real life was rather surreal, and there was loads of surreality around for sure.

Another surreal thing was these trays with heads in them. There were people sitting discussing them and examining them at tables next to them. Not sure what that was all about? Looked a bit like stamp collectors to me spotting minor differences in otherwise identical moulds and paint jobs.

Some fantastic wings for sale

There were loads of Pullips and Blythes as well, so cute, ended up buying some mini ones on my last day in Tokyo – could not withstand the cuteness although I have no idea what to use them for ><

These were interesting – silicone dolls with no visible joints. They looked a little eerie with no faces though…

Mamma Chapps were completely sold out when I arrive which was late afternoon. Shame, would have loved to get one for myself as well as a forum friend. Oh well, next time I will not arrive on the same day of the show ;)

There were quite a few Soom dolls hanging around the place

Not sure who these girls were but sexy ^^

These were interesting, not sure who they were either. Took a picture of the brand name, have to check it out.

Araki stand!!!

London October Meet at Excell Expo

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

Getting over a cold so was a bit on the tired side today.

Arrived around noon and walked up and down and found no-one :( So had a rest on a bench watching all the cos players walk by.

Darth Vader and his stormtroopers walked by a couple of times with a couple of siths on on tow.
And a couple of Yoko’s who, I am really sorry, looked far from right. Did see one later on that was more like it so that was cool.
Lots of free hugs and kisses available as usual and the predator and alien team.

After watching the crowd for around an hour had another tour and found the group ^^

Was good to meet people from Rezindolz that I had not met before.

Badness was not so bad today, why not? LOL :D
Maybe because of less crossdressing men :P

Oh, and introduced the dolls to a nice girl and her dad and gave them my card so if you are reading this, hello ^^
If you got any questions, feel free to send me a mail.

All pics here. Bit of adult content. Be warned..

My new vinyl girl from a manga I don’t know – just thought she looked cute. Think she will be called Striker as the manga has something like that in the title. And Yoko in her new swimsuit.

Pretty new face

Mauzi got back!

Only, and it turned out crappy, pic of Cinnamon ><

Raven’s unruly pair

Another pretty new face

White Unoa Twins

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Well, not the fastest in the world to get my girls dressed but they do get clothes eventually ^^

Due to current lack of energy reserves I opted to buy something this time, very much against my principles but well, the outfit was really cute and there was enough for two so… + I don’t own any prober jeans for my girls and want to make some myself at some point so always good to have a reference and see how the professionals actually do it ^^

So finally, my two white girls all dressed up and taken some pics. Unfortunately the weather is crap so no light ><

Not sure this will be their style but casual pink suits them.

Clothes is from Her Delicate Strength, bought used.
Wigs, no idea but they are really nice.
Eyes are default white Unoa ones.
Boots, no idea.
Shoes, J-popdolls
Neclace, no idea.

Zhora faceup is by Araka, connoisseurs will be able to tell and Pris is by me, not half as good but I like it so far, especially chuffed about her lips. I opted for no blushing as had nothing that suited the paleness and slight yellowing of her skin.

But, Pris I sanded and can see that Zhora still got all seam lines and looks shiny - might give Zhora a sanding one day as well. It looks somewhat nicer...

Got a nice balance going on here

So chuffed I got a white pair, never thought that would happen

Cyberpunk Street Samurai and Hacker Project

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

So I bought this pack of 10 really cheap knitting yarns before Christmas with various colours and textures in it.

Two of these have now turned into respectively a short jacket with attached daggers and a long gilet both with hoods and inspired me to make two cyberpunk Unoas Raz and Daz.
One is a Street Samurai with magical abilities and the other one is a Street Hacker with paranormal abilities.

This is the short jacket with the daggers flat and worn by Cinnamon – well – she is my favourite girl ^^

So, have gone on the hunt for wigs and eyes and located both after some major struggling – why is all the stuff you want always sold out???

Pink and Green bob wigs found on Ebay with Linny’s help – I am apparently useless in finding anything on there.

Hair extensions in Yellow and Olive found at My little customs to add to the bobs to make them a little more interesting and cyberpunky.

And just remembered, bought some plastic tubing for making bracelets, think that would work well in the wigs as well. Have to dig that out.

Eyes had to be ordered from Masterpiece as I just could not find anything on the MP or any of the other respective doll sites that had any resemblance to the picture I have in my head of what they should look like. I am not sure they still are right but will find out once they arrive – Microchip and Metallic Fuchsia with feline pupil.

Fabric for clothes and accessories like belts and arm protectors is almost sorted and will be making boots for one myself using the Unoa sole option parts and the other will just have the high heel option. And got my mini eyelets and setters so all good to go for the corset part that one of them shall be wearing. And for boots.

Their faces will be customized sleeping Lusis and Sist faceplates so they get the asian look. Already sketched them out in pencil, still a little scared to actually start drilling.

Sketched up as to what I would like them to look like finished – scary!

And have bought some coloured eyelashes… hope it works… If not, will just leave them without. Not a big fan of lashes but might look good. We shall see…

Think that is it for now – now just for waiting getting it all home and see if it fits – if not – pooh!

It looks really good in my head but that does not mean it will when it is finished… Just hope all the colours actually match when the stuff arrives!!! Watch this space ^^

Random!

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

I just had my ransom note for my Unoa faceplates from Parcelforce and customs really are the most random place ever.

When I got the ransom note for the optional parts, which were less than the faceplates, I had to pay Import Duty as well as the VAT charge.

This time I have only gotten charged VAT which is more than last time but less in total including the Parcelfarce fee?

I am slightly, no acutually, I am VERY puzzled.

Perhaps one day I will call an ask them how they actually calculate stuff…
